From Square One│Week 12

Talk about ending the year on a high!

OK, it’s not over just yet! But, we have had yet another amazing week at Blogybuilding.com. In fact, I’m happy to announce that compared to last week, traffic is up by a whopping 85% – of which 68% are new visits. While these figures may not mean much to you, this indicates (to me, at least) that the website and moreover, our Facebook and Twitter pages, are growing – and that’s good!

With growth comes the need to change and adapt, and as you can see, we have and are continuing to make changes to the site. Our newest feature is “subscribe”, which when completed will allow our readers to sign-up to a monthly newsletter. Admittedly, this is something that we should have done sooner, but better late than never I guess! More after the cut.

From Square One│Week 11

 

WOW, what a week we have had at Blogybuilding.com.

What started off as a slow month (November-December), ended up being our best in terms of readership – up by 20% compared to October-November.

Much of this recovery is owed to the content that we have published in the past week, which included an article on elevating testosterone levels naturally, an inspiring introductory post from our new female columnist Nicole Hart, a product review for Clinique and of course, an interview with the beautiful Tiffany Tillinger – our most popular interview to date!

As with our bodies, nothing is more wonderful than watching something that you have put your time and effort into grow and flourish. Thank you all for your continued support and readership, we have so much more to give! More after the cut.

If you happen to be reading this, then we have something in common: we both want to look our best!

With Movember behind us and Christmas fast approaching, I think it’s safe to say that the festive season is upon us. However, with Christmas comes cold weather; if you remember, a few weeks ago, I published a post on winter and how it can adversely affect your skin – something that you don’t want, especially with all the parties you’ll be attending!

WBFF PRO Tiffany Tillinger│Interview

At the risk of sounding unprofessional – OMFG, Tiffany Tillinger is hot!

And she’s not just a looker, she’s a genuinely nice person too – I had loads of fun interviewing her.

OK, where to begin? Right, Tiffany is a WBFF Bikini PRO. No surprises there – she definitely looks the part. I remember catching a glimpse of her on the WBFF’s Facebook page and thinking “wow, this girl looks like she has been torn straight of a page in Oxygen” – a women’s fitness magazine. I say that about a lot of girls in the industry – looking great is one thing, but having the personality to match is another. So, I wanted to put Tiffany to the test by interviewing her. She happily agreed. We had fun, and she came up trumps! This is one not to be missed – interview after the cut.

Getting To Grips With Weight Loss│Q & A

Having recently answered a question on weight loss, I was in two minds when I received this question via email:

“Hi there, must say i’m impressed with the blog…well done. What is the quickest way to lose fat – ive put on sooo much over the summer (>20 kg) but it just won’t go away. Is there any special food i should have (slimfast?) and i go to uni doing medicine which means after all the work i get i have not got the energy to go gyming. Any spare time i find, i play badminton for 3 hours a week and cycle for 2 hours a week. Pls help [sic].”

At first, I considered referring him to a previous Q + A (similar topic), but then I read more closely; there were a few words/statements that stuck out to me which I felt needed addressing. So, thank you for your question – You can read my response after the cut.

Understanding Time Under Tension

1 week ago, I introduced a technique to my workouts which I believe have given me results in a relatively short period of time.

Coming to think of it, it’s not so much a technique as it is a process in how you train. I’m talking about time under tension, or TUT for short.

Nothing pains me more than seeing guys (and girls, although not as bad) training aimlessly, going through the motions while paying little or no attention to what they’re actually doing. And then they have the cheek to come up to me and ask me “what are you taking?” simply because they’re not seeing the results they’d hoped for. Sorry if I sound a little self-conceited, but it’s true!

Topping Up Testosterone – Naturally!

The rate at which your body develops and builds muscle is dependent upon various factors, including hormones.

Indeed, countless studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between the male sex hormone testosterone and hypertrophy (an increase in the size of muscle cells). In other words, the more testosterone your body produces, the greater the potential for growth.
