With Christmas just over a fortnight away, I’m sure that many of you have been or are still busy putting together your wish lists!
So, with that in mind, I thought that now would be a good a time as ever to make a few suggestions as to what you could ask for – the only twist is, these are all health and fitness related products.
Also, if you’re wondering where I have sourced some these gift ideas from, make sure you check out Mashable – a social media news blog. Their founder, Pete Cashmore, is always publishing great finds via Facebook and Twitter. Gift ideas after the cut.
IWatchz│Q Collection – £20
A simple concept, but amazing nonetheless. If you have or are expecting a 6th generation iPod Nano for Christmas, then why not ask for one of these cool watch bands by IWatchz, which basically allows your MP3 player to double up as a wristwatch! They come in an array of collections, but I have found the Q Collection to be the sportiest.
Jawbone│UP – £79.99
Now, if this functions as advertised, then I’m impressed! Manufactured by Jawbone, UP is wristband that tracks your daily activity through the use of MotionX® technology. As a result, UP can not only gauge how many calories you have burnt, but can also monitor how well you sleep, as well as provide a social experience for you to compete against your friends – not to mention, it looks pretty sleek too! So what’s the catch? You need an iPhone.
Vibram│FiveFingers – Starts at £60
I keep hearing rave reviews about these shoes – they are shoes right? As you can see, the Vibram FiveFingers are supposed to replicate being barefoot, which in turn allows the biomechanics of the foot (bones, joints, tendons, sensory receptors etc.) to work more efficiently – it makes sense if you think about it. I’m really considering these, but it’s going to take a hell of a lot more persuading! #asicsaddict

Homedics│Shiatsu Back Massager with Heat – Starts at £100
I have this and it’s great! Setup is simple: fasten the device to a chair, plug it into a wall socket, and boom – you have your own massage chair! This would make a great present for someone who suffers from poor blood circulation, or for someone who trains hard and often and would like to improve their recovery times.
Dormeo│Memory Foam Mattress – Starts at £300
Now this is something that I want – and will be asking for! I promise you; buy one of these, and you’ll sleep like a KING. In fact, I remember spending a good hour watching an infomercial on this mattress and believe me – I was sold! So how does it work? Well, the material from which mattress is made reacts to warmth; when you lie down on it, it heats up to match your body temperature whilst adapting to the shape of your body and as a result, your head, neck and back receive optimal support. So, if like me, you’re constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the quality of your sleep, this may very well be the answer.
So, they’re pretty much my suggestions for Christmas gift ideas. If you would like to like to contribute to this list, feel free to discuss and add your suggestions to the comment box below.
